April 22, 2022 Options Expiration Results
This week I was holding 4 covered calls and 1 cash-secured put position. All call positions were opened at the start of April.
Here is how these positions look now:
Another rough week for the stock market and for my covered calls holdings, by now we are losing -$973 on value, luckily premiums from options help to offset losses. At the end of the week, positions are down at -6.83%.
It doesn’t seem I will be able to recover losses this April, I wonder will I be able to recover them in May or June?!
Covered Call options
I was holding Bank of America, Virgin Galactic, Tlry, and Deutsche bank covered call options.
BAC: NYSE
For most of the week, BAC performed greatly but fell significantly on Friday.
Rolled to the next week, keeping the same strike price to get some small options premium
SLD 1 BAC NYSE Apr29'22 40.5 CALL 0.08 USD
DB: NYSE
During the week DB stock, a little bit recovered and today I was able to roll up the call strikes for a decent premium
SLD 2 DB NYSE Apr29'22 12.5 CALL 0.16 USD
I decided to wait for next Monday before making new call options on SPCE and TLRY stocks.
Weekly options premium so far
Options premium received this week: $41
As I’m trading on margin (borrowing funds from the broker) I haven’t reinvested these funds in an additional dividend stock, but instead, I’m planning to withdraw some 25% from the options premium at the end of the month.
So far in April, I’ve made $496.56 with $10,300 capital at risk. About 4.8% return (not counting in value loss)
