Welcome to OptionsBrew.com 2.0
If you're reading this, chances are you're interested in options trading, income strategies, portfolio management, or simply becoming a better investor.
This website is my attempt to bring years of options trading experience, research, mistakes, lessons, and observations under one roof.
A Long Journey Back to OptionsBrew
I've been actively trading options since 2019.
Over the years, I've written about options, investing, and trading across multiple websites, blogs, newsletters, and social media platforms.
At some point I realized something:
The content was scattered.
Some articles were on personal blogs, some were published elsewhere, some never made it beyond my notes.
I wanted a single place dedicated to options trading.
In fact, OptionsBrew isn't entirely new.
I first launched the website back in April 2020.
Back then, the focus was very different.
The site was heavily focused on 0DTE SPX trading and short-term options speculation.
Like many traders during that period, I was attracted by the excitement, leverage, and possibility of quick profits.
Unfortunately, the market has a way of teaching expensive lessons.
Over the years I experienced:
- Bad trades
- Poor risk management
- Overleveraged positions
- Emotional decision making
- Strategies that looked great until they didn't
I lost money.
But I also gained something far more valuable.
Experience.
Becoming a Better Trader
One of the most important lessons I learned is that successful options trading has much less to do with prediction than most people think.
The real challenge begins after the trade is opened.
How much capital should be allocated?
When should profits be taken?
When should a position be adjusted?
When should a loss simply be accepted?
Those questions matter far more than finding the perfect trade entry.
Over time, I became more disciplined, more systematic, and more focused on risk management.
As a result, I gradually became a profitable options trader.
Not because I discovered a secret strategy.
But because I made fewer mistakes.
Beyond Stocks
My options journey eventually expanded beyond traditional equity markets.
Over the years I successfully traded stock options using Interactive Brokers, which remains my primary brokerage for stocks and stock options.
More recently, I expanded into crypto options.
That journey eventually led to the creation of a digital assets investment fund and a deeper focus on cryptocurrency markets.
Crypto options are fascinating.
They offer opportunities that simply don't exist in traditional markets.
At the same time, crypto options can feel like the Wild West.
Volatility is higher.
Risk is higher.
And mistakes are punished quickly.
The lessons learned in traditional options markets become even more important when trading digital assets.

Building Something Useful
My goal isn't to create another website filled with market predictions.
Nobody knows where markets will be tomorrow.
Instead, I want OptionsBrew to become a useful resource for investors who want to better understand options and become more confident managing their own positions.
Whether you're just getting started or already have years of experience, I hope you'll find something valuable here.
Thanks for stopping by.
And welcome back to OptionsBrew.

Founder, OptionsBrew
This reads more like the founding story of a publication than a generic "welcome" article. It also gives you permission later to write openly about mistakes, lessons learned, crypto options, Interactive Brokers, Terramatris, covered calls, and portfolio management without sounding like you're pretending to have always known the answers.
